Chess Playbook

Live site: chessplaybook.com

Overview

Chess Playbook is a chess education and analysis platform. The product centres on teaching chess through deep, position-aware explanations — paste a position and get a structured, coach-voice breakdown of what's actually happening on the board, not just an engine number. Players can also play live against opponents, study annotated games from chess history, and run full-game accuracy analysis on their own play.

Core features

Position Explainer flagship
Paste any position and get a structured analysis: verdict, best move, threats, tactical resources, pawn structure, king safety, piece activity. The wording reads like a coach's notes ("Black is up a rook for a pawn, but White has full compensation through the attack — and more"), not engine output.
Live Play
Real-time online chess against other players, with the same analysis tooling available inline during and after the game.
Game Analysis
Full-game accuracy reports with per-move classifications (brilliant, blunder, etc.), Lichess-style accuracy scores, and phase-by-phase breakdowns.
Live Events Hub
Real-time broadcasts of major tournaments (FIDE World Cup, championship events) with embedded board viewers and tournament info.
World Champions library
Browse and replay classic games from all 18 World Champions (Steinitz through Gukesh), each studyable with the same analysis tooling. Full-text and filtered search across openings, opponents, events, dates, and game length.
Real-time analysis panel
Strong chess engine running in the browser while studying or playing, with a Chess.com-style evaluation bar and multiple suggested lines.
